Commercial laundry chutes

Where commercial laundry is bagged a 400mm laundry chute is the perfect size.  To allow for larger volumes of laundry loads popular sizes are 500mm and 600mm.

We manufacture a large variety of modular laundry chute components.

The modular interlocking components allow us to design a chute to meet your precise requirements. A curtain fire damper with a fusible link offset at 72deg C, is installed within the ceiling level on either the lower ceiling level or at each ceiling level.

The flushmount laundry chute door has a 1hr British standard fire rating. The doors are manufactured to accommodate the size of the laundry chute. Our flushmount laundry chute door with flushmount handle is a safety feature as there is not object sticking out for residents or patients to injure themselves.  The laundry chute doors are supplied with locks as standard.

The laundry chutes consist of a sharp 90° elbow behind the first door at the top of the laundry chute with a T Piece immediately behind any lower doors.  Laundry chute wall mounted brackets are installed on alternate straight pieces with locking bands on all component joints that are not supported with a wall bracket.  Please see out installation manual for comprehensive installation instructions.

All our laundry chute components have a high gloss finish and are manufactured using stainless steel with the highest fire resistance.

Heat resisting properties of stainless steel

Most stainless steel grades that would be considered for building applications ie the 304 (1.4301) and 316 (1.4401) types have useful, long-term oxidation resistance at temperatures over 800°C and do not begin to melt until temperatures of over 1375°C are reached. It is unlikely that uniform, sustained high temperatures like these would be reached in short term ‘transient’ fire conditions.
